So..Um... TA-DAAAH!

Zangoose became my favourite pokemon since I saw him for the first time

When the comic was in the concept phase I knew that she will get him as first pkmn

Zangoose is OK for the lame student because this is the normal type of pokemon. It can't make a lot of damage using powers, like fire, water, posion, electricity etc etc.
It would be so irresponsible giving for example Charmander to the beginner. One mistake could make a lot of damage by burning house or even killing somebody!
To rise a posion pokemon, trainer have to be rly experienced - it's like taking care of posion snake or spider.
The same thing with electric type like Pikachu. (walking defibrillator xD)
The water type is also sifficult to train. Trainer always must be near the water. How Goldeen could live without water? (i think there are exceptions like Psyduck who can live without it)
Some of the pokemons are forbidden by law to train. Some of the psychic types can force ppl to do bad things.

On the other hand, Machops, Geodudes, Eeevees, Skittys, Meowths etc are our friends (like dogs/cats) and help us in everyday life.

The Pokemon should be able to protect trainer. Wild pokemons can hurt or even kill human. So Sullivan didn't recived a Pidgey or Ratatta.

I know, I changed ALOT pkmn world.. But this just a comic..

I rly hope you will like her zangoose :"C
